THE KING OF NOTHINGL

KAKINE YUUDESHI
壊れた魂

Song: UNKNOWN - Artist: UNKNOWN - Words: 626

Useless

Kakine Yuudeshi walked the cold shores of Iceland's winter state, his body mending with the cold winds as if they were one in the same. He had arrived in Iceland previously under the guise of helping Azure Iramasha, an ally to the Yuudeshi clan, his family. The prominent leaders of multiple organizations and the leading defense against attackers that wish to prey upon Karakura City. They sent their influence depending on the situation, whether it was needed or not was truly meaningless to the man that walked the cold edge of Iceland. The day was going to be long, the entirety of it would be far too great to explain. But, too simple to handle in large groups. Iceland was a war ground, one that Kakine would know far too well.

Step after step, the man's hands remained within his pockets as he took a look across the cold ocean of Iceland's far west coast. It only brewed in degree with the darkness and spite that was now consuming Iceland as a whole. The Vanguard arrived in order to instill a sense of respect and to remove outer influences from Iceland, to give it back to its people. Shadowfall on the other hand, would not allow such a thing. With that being the case, the two groups were in a heated battle that seemed to only continue on for miles and miles. News of the Vanguard's leader, Azure Iramasha, a family friend, was in current battle with the Shadowfall forces leader. He was located in the capital city, an area that Kakine intended on touching down in when the time came. Along with this battle, tens of others had spawned all across Iceland's surface. It seemed that it was a battleground for the damned, a proving ground that couldn't be avoided.

Oh well.

The words floated through Kakine's mind as a small smirk graced his lips. Movements unseen to the human eye occurred as his body flashed, momentarily disappearing from the face of the earth. It was in these few moments that he had appeared outside of the large barrier containing the capital, Reykjavik. It seemed that no one would be getting in nor out of the hell hole. As it stood for the outer reaches of the dome however, Shadowfall forces had been entirely obliterated and Vanguard Forces were now taking hold of the borderline. All but one had escaped the wrath of whoever had come previously, a demon that seemed to be engaged in combat with another human, one that seemed to be of Vanguard origin. Rubbing his forehead, Kakine spat to the side and watched the dark, crimson skies of Iceland roll over. Clouds of white and red filtered in and out of vision as the male brought a Cigarette up to his lips, lighting it and taking a long intake of smoke.

War is useless. Useless and painful.

The words echoed upon the battlefield as his body once again disappeared, his energy influencing his speed to reach a near doubled state of speed. His body coiled as he emerged in between the two fighters. One, the Human that had appeared to take on the asshat, while the other was a demon that sought nothing but war. He would learn, just as the human would, that War was not a game. Iceland's war only sent echoes of pain and regret through Kakine's mind. It was close to that of World War Three, the war in which he slaughtered thousands in the name of his dying wife. Memories were not ones that wished to be remembered, but those which had been lived through for years.

As the flashbacks slowly came to a close, Kakine's body once again moved in a fluid motion as a tornado of death had been sent flying forward at the disturbed demon. Within one flick of his left arm, energy blasted from his body outward to send a wall flying upward, thick and erect as it sent the tornado dispersing, nearly being broken entirely. The was to block the attack that Dellaporo sent forth to the demon. On the other hand, Kakine's right arm had been sent flying upward as well in order to create a dome around the man himself. As the energy formed into the titanium dome, the attacks that had been meant for the Human were thus directed towards him, being completely negated as the dome was dropped once more. In yet another fluid motion, the two objects that had been previously created through Kakine's Creation Construction would disperse, the energy returning to his body once more.

There was no time for games, the Vanguard would be taking control of the outer city in mere moments and there wouldn't be anyone stopping this. However, those that wished to interfere upon Azure Iramasha's battle would need to step before Kakine and prove to him that they were as well going to enter the proving ground that was Reykjavik. Standing fully straight, the male's dirty blonde hair sporadically waved in the air, the cold winds of Iceland only picking up as the seconds ticked by.

"Listen here, jackasses. This is Vanguard territory now. Which means you-" Kakine's left hand focused towards Dellaporo, pointing at him violently. "Will stand watch with me to make sure no outsiders interfere with that idiot Azure. While on the other hand-" Kakine's right hand now focused towards Chris, pointing at him as dark energy began to envelop his entire body. "You will be leaving. You have two choices. Death, or retreat. You only have seconds to act and your decision will be fine. Don't fuck around, kid. You don't understand what's soon to happen"

Words had been spoken and finalized, the Yuudeshi's body radiating with anger due to the Shadowfall operative that still remained in the outskirts of Reykjavik. If he took the death route, Dellaporo and Kakine would have no issues deal with him, if he left he would live to fight another battle. He was given a decision, if he did not accept either then the decision would be made for him.

Kakine would make sure of that

Dellapero darted forward, the visuals of the battlefield beginning to blur in the state of building sonic speeds and the momentum manifesting around him. His emerald eyes narrowed, watching for any sudden movement from his foe. He could feel the tension in their soul, the doubtful, but resolute feeling that had driven many to these kinds of situations. It wasn't his favorite thing to force those kinds of odds against people if he had anything to say about it, but this time of war didn't permit such minor preferences to carry merit Seconds before the short-lived battle would have began, the Human noticed a blurred figure approaching rapidly. In this limited state, his advanced perception had some difficulty making them out, but could still track the hypersonic Yuudashi to some degree. He had only a moment to question who they were and whether or not they served as early reinforcements to the falling Shadowfall regime.

Then it hit him. The unknown ally landed between the Hellspawn and the Human just as Grance was about to strike. He had already taken up the motion of his attack, foot dragging through the ground and kicking up rock and stone all around. His kick had been sent forth, the small frame of time he had used in an effort to alter the nature of his attack. Thsi proved pointless, a sudden wall of concentrated wind a kin to a living tornado manifesting in the new arrivals wake. His strike hit the current instead, the spiritual winds being pushed inward and redirected from the kinetic energy and momentum of the spinning kick. It sustained itself, draining all the energy from the blow and blocking his path from reaching the Demon who now stood only a couple feet away. He blinked, more confused than anything, but also exceedingly cautious.

Dellapero kicked off the surface off the twister, severing the current even further and launching himself a few feet away from the newly arrived soul. He slid across the ground, dragging up dust in his wake. Whoever this guy was, they were a hell of a lot stronger than the shrimp he was facing before, even on a league higher than his own. On the bright side, if they were an enemy than he'd finally be back in the court of a scenario he was used to; being the underdog. Sparks of dark-green lightning continued to crackle around him, the moecules in his body being rearranged and improved over and ober with each passing second in preperation for when things inevitably heated up again.

He stood still, waiting for more details to unveil themselves and allow him to better deduce things before acting up again. Normally that wasn't his style, but with how severe things were at the time, his personal traits had to be put aside for the time being. Things were even more obscured when the metal dome manifested, a barrier oriented on defending from the Demon's coming onslaught taking form and preventing their attacks from even reaching him. It wouldn't have been too much trouble to avoid on his own, but it was clear this individual didn't want their fight to take place for one reason or another. It all came together at the end of the former fight being completely nulled on both sides by a single force. From the words Kakine spoke, it became clear they were actually with the Vanguard of all things! That may have been more obvious if he kept up with these things more effectively.

Dellapero exhaled a long sigh, expecting the worst for his former adversary. Where he was generally merciful, he couldn't say the same for all of the Vanguard. Whether just a threat or not, he couldn't be sure, nor really had any merit to stop the execution. It was a war, after all. There wasn't time to waste in self-made conflicts over personal disagreements. He took a step forward once the tide of assaults had ended, all of them reduced to ruin by the odd defensive constructs built around them. "This place was practically already ours. Don't see why you needed to drop in when there are plenty of areas that need a lot more back up than here. .Though with your debut, I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of reinforcements on their end sooner than later."

His hand drifted toward his sword's hilt. It was more a precautionary measure for who else would soon arrive, rather than either of the two on the field as of now. He remained silent for now in regards to the threat,.It wouldn't have much merit if he opted in now before a response from the out-classed, and now out-numbered soldier. They didn't have much reason to stay against these odds. Things went from dim, to completely hopeless for the single soul to maintain control here. Grance's ears tracked the sky, listening in for anything getting closer to the outskirts of the capital. The roar of power inside the barrier was louder than most things, but he'd pick up on any vast quantities of soldiers headed their way. Until then, the vanguard operative waited for things to escalate once more and the Demon's response to the continuously stacked odds against them

THE KING OF NOTHING

KAKINE YUUDESHI
壊れた魂

Song: UNKNOWN - Artist: UNKNOWN - Words: 1132

Kakine's body stretched outwardly as the Vanguard member reacted almost instantly to his stoppage, trying to adjust his blow as best as he could before impacting the wall Kakine threw up. The man showed promise with such a skill, but on the other hand he held back in a moment's notice. Maybe he could be tricked, but who knew. It mattered little to the Yuudeshi, not when someone like the idiot demon stood nearby. His reactions were odd and prompted a disgusting feeling in Kakine's mouth. To think that a demon so lowly stood in a battle here near minutes ago, it was somewhat despicable, really. Nevertheless, what was one to expect from an asshat of a demon, eh?

"Bankai. Kuukyoken no Ha Benkei."

The area around the three men shifted, the earth beneath them cracking immensely as spiritual energy shot out of the Yuudeshi's being, swirling in every way imaginable. The darkred reiatsu began to pool around the Yuudeshi man, forcing its way into the cracks of the earth beneath him. As it did so, his blade jolted out of its sheathe and took the form of a woman, one that wore the dress of a warrior but held the stature of a noble. Her body materialized before the group almost instantly, sticking to Kakine's side as if she were a set of hot glue.

"Uuuuugh, you always choose the worst of times to summon me, Baaaaaka. I just wanted to sleep today. You've had me so worked up and worried recently that I felt like I needed a day off."

The woman looked over to Dellaporo, the man himself seemed to have adjusted to Kakine's arrival and it deemed no problem to the girl herself. On the other hand, her gaze adjusted to the other side of the Yuudeshi, taking Chris into full view. Without another word, the woman placed her hand against Kakine's neck and wrapped her other arm tightly against it.

"idiot..."

"Heh, time to have some fun, little demon."

The words echoed around the outside of the capital city as Benkai's body flipped in front of Kakine's, his hands gripping at her waist as she quickly transformed from her current state. As the bright light died down, Benkai was no longer visible, only a large blade mimicked her previous state. A sly smirk formed against the Yuudeshi's lips as he let the blade rest at his side, watching the demon.

The Man let him react as he wished to, there wasn't anything that would really stoop the Yuudeshi as it stood. There wasn't much that would stump the vanguard member either, so why bother with the demon's attacks? With that being said, the ground around the three began to glow a bright red, a symbol upon its surface sending waves of energy upward. They did no harm, only enough of a output to detect who stood upon the symbol. It seemed that the symbol itself was a transceiver, tracking and analyzing anything that the Yuudeshi and Vanguard did in its vicinity. It truly seemed that this demon knew not of what he was doing, to think someone would be stupid enough to try to analyze the Yuudeshi, something everyone has already done thousands of times before.

"Heh, you don't really seem to understand the predicament you stand in, do you?"

Before the Yuudeshi could execute his next lines of speech, the demon was quick to the punch and began screaming. Loudly. The demon felt like he had one the war, analyzing and studying the two men that stood before him. Over and over his voice echoed as the screams just could not, nor would, end. Kakine slid his arm backward, a sheathe forming from the air almost instantly appeared as the blade he once held was slid into its innards. Bringing his hands together, the Bankai State Yuudeshi watched as Chris dropped dead, his life forced being drained entirely as the seal exerted a final push, its innards spewing something that could only be defined as cheating death.

"To think that an idiot like him doesn't understand that the Yuudeshi Network scrambles any information given off by a Yuudeshi themselves. You're fine, Dellaporo. Besides, if they knew anything about us it wouldn't matter. Shadowfall plebs like him aren't worth your, or my, time. Now then, time to retroactively deal with the bitch he conjured up to."

Without speaking another word, energy shot out of Kakine's body as his hands pressed together, reiatsu being concentrated through them at amounts thought impossible. As the energy poured outward, the winds around the two men began to turn to violent gales, pushing the earth left and right as it saw fit.

"That demon sure did have a cocky mind, too bad he killed himself off for no reason. Heh"

The light from Kakine's body faded as the energy that once poured out ceased. As it did so, six blades of twenty meters in length formed only feet above the seal's focal point where the being was being released. As these blades formed, twenty more of them measuring in at two meters surrounded the hole in a circular pattern. As the being was finally formed, the blades moved at speeds equaling Kakine's own, meaning they were near invisible to the eye. This being the case, Kakine also dropped down to the ground, placing his hands against the earth. As the reiatsu within his hands exerted outward, a large box formed around the focal point and the blades. Repeatedly, the box would be replicated, only slightly bigger to layer the previous. Over and over and over, the dense, thick metal that formed around the focal point was put into place. Finally, as he lifted his hands once more, The Yuudeshi brought them together and slammed, repeatedly. Doing so would cause each layer to tighte the next, pushing the box slowly to its brink. Finally, with a final blow to his hands, Kakine brought the boxes to their extent and closed them tightly into the small box that formed around just the focal point where the woman would emerge. The blades had been gone due to being pressed within the seal itself, and the woman.

"Tiresome."

The Yuudeshi laughed as he turned to Dellaporo, the previously erected woman no longer existing to this world.

"How about we go ahead and stand watch now, eh?"

Artist:六弦天使 - Song:Wilderness Edge- Word Count: 1784

Dellapero's eyes shifted toward the crimson barrier in the distance while they waited for the Demon's response. He sensed out the dark powers in conflict under the blackened shield. The intensity only continued to escalate, the fluctuations in power apparent even while most of it was masked by the defenses of Shadowfall's false city. He wondered what the result would be when things finally came to an end and what would come to be after this war came to its bitter conclusion. Across Iceland there were flares of energy from individual battles reaching their climax, others ending soon after. The auras of darkness flooded the sky in greater number with each passing moment. It wasn't looking very good for them, and he didn't want to think of how many had been lost thus far in the ever-expanding death counter of war. Multiple powers rivaling that of Even Azure had now come to Iceland, and he had no idea who the one actually fighting the Vanguard's leader was or how powerful they were under the veil of shadow.

These thoughts were cut when the Human started to feel the changes in energy around the outskirts and the unexpected call of a Shinigami's renowned weapon being brought to the surface. Their energy flooded the area like a tsunami, reminding him of a similar power he contended with not long ago before this war even began. It was monstrous compared to most, not something he could could contend with very easily unless he brought out the peak of his own strength and all of his determination. So why conjure such a power right off the bat against someone drastically weaker than even himself? it was war, something to take more seriously than most things, but there wasn't even any restraint in the Shinigami's action. They pulled forth what he assumed to be the epitome of their power just like that and put the Demon in an absolutely hopeless scene. This was over before it even began, or even before kakine made their debut. The soldier was just too outmatched, never able to achieve the victory they desired.

At the least, Dellapero intended to hold himself back and let the soul live on when this was all over. With Kakine...He didn't even know if the lone general could even survive the pressure of their bankai, let alone any serious attacks that could follow. A sigh escaped him, eyes analyzing the transition of the stronger ally's zanpakto taking on a new form. It was something he didn't see very often, and they always had an interesting and unique display to unveil the nature of their weapon. He didn't expect to see a woman of all things manifest from the blade's transformation though. The Unknown didn't know all that much about the mechanics of Shinigami, but vaguely he could recall a similar instance with another he met in the past that possessed the ability to manifest a living entity in the real world. Something was wrong though...

In the corer of the Human's eye he noticed something odd. Some form of seal was expanding from under their feet and moving to cover the battlefield. He could feel the darkness that manifested it and the cursed nature it intended to create. Things like this were his specialty to deal with. He quickly moved his hand to grab the grip of his own sword; though only one for now. He didn't desire them for battle, but the unique properties he could call upon through them. His directive changed to addressing the mark, leaving the Demon to Kakine entirely. It wasn't like they didn't have things in order already. The true strength of his swords would be an inevitability in these times of war, so revealing it earlier wouldn't be an issue for him.

The swordsman unsheathed his sword, focusing his energy through it to tap into the hidden nature it harbored. A white light began to pour out from the sword, its energy changing from a generic green aura, to a pure white divinity that embodied all that was pure and holy. The Katanas shape shifted, contorting into the form of a large bastard sword that reflected the color of the brightest white. Its aura alone just from manifesting caused the seal to react, crimson gas rising up from the ground around him. The demonic energy was being assaulted by the blade's mere presence, the darkness quelled and dispersed as the Lightbringer came to be. Grance's weapon made its final transition.

Dellapero's power in general had smoothly increased an entire level through this action. Though still not on par with his associate, it had been a quick and immediate change to bring him that much closer to the peak of the world's strongest combatants. Holy energy poured out from his body, spilling out to the markers below and distorting it. In one quick motion, the Human spun the blade in his hand, plunging it into the ground as the ritual was taking place. His eyes .raised to the Demon that orchestrated this, watching their madness intensify at the thought of their dark plans coming to flourish. Their screams of victory would be short lived. He willed the power of the Lightbringer to release upon the ground and the tainted markings that painted the ground.

Before the ritual could conclude and anything could be properly transmitted, an enormous wave of purifying energy shot through the ground, spilling outward and aiming to consume the entire curse in its light. Cracks of electricity manifested in the air from the two powers clashing, but without a stronger conduit to counter the nature of his weapon, the battle would not last. Whether the sacrifices continued or not or the energy of those subjects was simply drained would be unknown, but the ritual wouldn't successfully finish whatever demented task it intended to achieve. The center of origin manifested around the Human, its presence giving him an extra layer of protection from the twisted energies of Hell The surge spread across the battlefield, turning the seal from its blood-forged red to a temporal white. It glowed, the energy of the Lightbringer overwriting it and slowly purifying the area of any demonic magic in place.

The light ebbed, the seal vanished and anything that were to come of its conclusion was ceased. Throughout all of this he said not a word, focusing only on the task he assigned to himself in those moments. Whatever happened as a result of the ritual's disruption was unknown, as was how the fates of the sacrifices would change. In any light Kakine no longer needed to spend the energy on quelling the seal after it had already nearly completed. It had been purified at a much earlier stage, nullifying any chance of the worst case scenario coming to be. He pulled the Lightbringer from the ground, the last traces of the seal's power now burning away by the weapon's light. It glowed vibrantly, slowly dimming as the energy pushed through it was retracted.

"People knowing what I can do doesn't really concern me, even if they succeeded after that. My powers have always been more direct anyway, so anyone would find out in the first few minutes of a fight regardless."

Which was true. His abilities basically could be easily broken down. He got stronger as he fought, could purify things of taint, and virtually cut anything in existence. There wasn't much to think about or prepare for against him. Dellapero didn't bother sealing the ascended power of his blade. In war there wouldn't be much of a break between battles anyway. He moved it back to its sheath, however. The holster adjusted to the increased size of the blade and contained its released form for the time being. Soon enough it would be time for it to be drawn once again. The green lightning that coursed around him began to die down, though still remained in a passive form of occasional sparks. His body had adjusted over the short tim e of the skirmish, his normal strength return to him and ready to ascend to the next level when things progressed. He looked to where the Demon once stood, if they even remained. If they were still there, then things would conclude in a matter of moments with Kakine's power as it was.

"For a few minutes, sure. If no one else comes, i'd rather go help some of our allies in their plight until their battle concludes. With your power, standing guard alone for a bit shouldn't be an issue. "

The battle in the main city may have gone on for some time with the two superpowers at work. A few of the other battles across Iceland were nearing their conclusion though. As long as there was time and no other forces arrived to claim the outskirts for their own, he would use the window to save as many of the others in the war as possible before the concluding moments in the dome of Hell close by. Just to be sure though, the Human could wait a little longer to feel out any potential enemies drawing closer. His senses were at their best, augmented hearing, sight, and focused sensory on spiritual currents all working in tandem to detect any foreign power approaching as quickly as possible.
