Indeed it was as the male had speculated but he lacked something. Despite throwing that punch it was something. Tsubasa himself had only realized people had or didn't. Tsubasa draw his katana slowly letting it hiss free of its sheath. The blade came to a stop as he walked towards a dummy. Restraint was the image in his mind, he wanted Vladimir able to see it. To see the difference between them in this regard. Not in skill or something else, something fundamentally different. In the way the attitude when throwing their attack. Tsubasa slowly slides into a stance bringing a middle guard. Bringing the sword out fast he cut the dummies head clean off. The horizontal slash sent a blast of air outwards parting clouds. Tsubasa had controlled his swing even stopping the second the cut clean. He didn't make a wide swipe or over swing. "There is something you need to grasp. The different resolve between leader and follower. As a man, their are things different and understanding the weight of it all. When you fight for something truly precious only then do you unlock true mastery."

Tsubasa sheathed his sword having made his point he hoped. That everyone had to push for something and find it. Have a goal in their heart or something important. "Every time I draw my sword, I don't do it lightly. I draw for my brethren, I draw for my comrades. I draw this blade with the weight and intended strength of letting their loved ones witness their return. That is precious to me, it has only become apparent lately how much. I wanted you to see it, to see if you can see a difference. Between one who devotes himself to the many over the one." He said softly as he smiled a bit and walked over towards a stream. This floated within the Unabara estate and out. He picked up a rock and dropped it in so Vladimir could see. The rock was cut into millions of pieces the moment it sunk beneath the water. Tsubasa began walking in as he explained the second trial. "This water cuts whatever fight it." He said calmly as he sat down within it.

His frame didn't move a muscle as he remained steady. Tsubasa's clothing everything seemed to embrace the flow. This wasn't the movement of a man who didn't realize the motion. The feeling of the cool water brushed against his skin. Tsubasa could remember many things as that familiar feeling. Former students who'd died here before this. Devoting himself to training for a cause yet unknown. Only recently did the knowledge and ideas become clear. Changing route to find himself harkening to a call all his own. This was his light within it all. His darkness that shown the light clear in this world. Tsubasa wasn't meant to be a light which illuminated the world like others. He was the shadow that made the light much more clear.

Artist: Johnny Rivers - Song: Secret Agent Man - Word Count: N/A

Each person in this world had their own story, their own narrative; these narratives, no matter how similar they may appear, alway differed from one another. The biggest difference, however, did not come from the protagonist, or with the supporting characters, it instead came from the interactions between the two. It was the differences in these two that allowed for each person to have their own narrative. This unique narrative slowly changed the protagonist and reveals to them what matters most. The emotions that the protagonist felt, the ways in which these emotions affect their actions, even the way that those around them alter their decisions; each of these things presents the protagonist with a plethora of options; the choice they make helps to expand, and possibly evolve, their own motives. What was was obscured may now be visible. It was these interactions, and these clarifications, which allowed for each being to live their own story; it allowed for the story of the world to continue.

It was in an instant that Tsubasa had chosen to give Vladimir a demonstration; this demonstration was one which depicted the difference in their attitudes, in their approaches. Tsubasa would put forth simply what was necessary; his strike, in and of itself, showed the restraint in his movements; it showed that he realized exactly how much was necessary. This was a direct clash with what Vladimir displayed. Vladimir had chosen a more abrupt, and less restraint oriented, approach. Tsubasa went on to speak of the difference between the resolve of that of a leader and a follower; this was something which he thought he understood pretty well. The resolve of each held some similarities, but some differences as well. The followers were much more resolute in fighting for their brethren, as well as their country; when it came down to it, however, their brethren were always the ones at their side and would usually maintain priority. The leaders had the same resolutions, however, they would not struggle as much when making a decision that may cost a follower their lives; the ultimate goal was more important than the life of one. This is what Vladimir believed, and both sides were equally justified in his eyes. Fighting for your brethren as well as to preserve the country, or even a way of life. In both cases the people aligned himself with what they believed in. In his eyes, however, it was the leader with the more resolute mindset. Being able to sacrifice the life of one of their own to ensure that the bigger goal, the one in which they were all fighting for, was achieved was no easy task. It was with this that Tsubasa continued to explain their differences.

Tsubasa fought for his brethren, his clan; Vladimir fought for himself. This was the claim that was presented before him, and it threw Vladimir off. All this time he had been motivated by his people; he had to improve himself for those around him. Was this what he was talking about? Was seeking to improve oneself for the good of others simply fighting for himself? Was Vladimir being naive in his approach to this rather interesting scenario? It was with this that Vladimir began to doubt the path that he had been taking all this while. This doubt was not something that was caused easily, it was due to the experience this man had and the claims that were laid out before him. It was with this that Vladimir found himself facing a problem more dire than the training before him. Was he fighting for the goal which he had always claimed? Was all of this simply for himself, is this what Tsubasa was attempting to show him? No, he cared for his people, his brethren. He wanted his people to continue to prosper; he didn’t want the country to face any sort of risk due to being unprepared. Yet as he thought back on recent events all he was able to see was the steady increase in himself, and the disappointing stagnation of his plans. He had been too preoccupied with creating a name for himself, increasing his own power. His logic was flawed in this manner. He had thought that if he had become powerful others would flock to Russia, and yet this was simply wrong. If he gained power they would simply flock to him, not the beautiful country he swore his loyalty. How could he correct this mistake?

It was with this that Vladimir was beginning to lose himself in his own despair, that was until Tsubasa had dropped the rock into the water. Looking over the rock was quickly destroyed. He had to control his thoughts; this little existential crisis of his had to wait. He was here to improve himself, and this questioning of himself was a way that he could improve himself. These questions, the self interrogation, was something which would also make him a better person. While this was true, Vladimir also realized that he couldn’t waste Tsubasa’s time. He had offered him this opportunity and he had to thank the man properly; he had to continue in his training. Tsubasa’s explanation of the phenomenon was rather interesting; anything that resisted the current would be destroyed by it. So this was a trial intended to make sure that the person could adjust to the flow? Accept things as they came? It was with this that Vladimir simply smiled; this entire trial was one in which was directly correlated to his current problem. He was fighting with himself over such a trivial matter. The past was the past; he could not change what has already occurred, but he can certainly change how he would act in the future. Perhaps this was the lesson of river. He had to be willing to accept things as it came; going with the flow. This was, more than likely, the lesson that he had to learn from this trial. The only thing which bothered him was the ideology of simply accepting things as they came; he could change the future and what was to come, couldn’t he? Shaking his head, this did not matter now.

With a nod he simply accepted what Tsubasa had said; his muscles having relaxed by now, his chi having returned to its normal density, he simply smiled. It seemed that he wouldn’t be able to heal any of the damage that he was going to incur now, but that was fine.

Taking off his shoes Vladimir simply looked over to the river; with a deep breath he simply took a step into the water. All was well, it was with this that he would continue walking in, before taking a seat. It was with this that he could feel the river beginning to change; the current was not something as simple as he foresaw. It was with this that he could feel the water beginning to slice at his body; these cuts opening and his blood entering the stream. Running red with his blood Vladimir simply ignored the pain, it wasn’t anything that he couldn’t handle. It was with this that he would open his mind. His mind went blank as he felt the water flow around him; it was rather soothing and he allowed himself to be taken in by the flow. The slashes slowly began to decrease until he was unable to feel any more resistance. It was with this that he also realized that he had been worrying over nothing; the past was something which he simply had to accept and learn from. Using this prior knowledge he would simply accommodate for the future. A person had to be able to adapt to the future in order to survive. This was what he had learned in a matter of moments.

Inflection was a part of growth and a fundamental part of life. One had to find and figure out what was wrong. Everyone did this to become one with the flow. Vladimir was no different, despite his youth he instantly took Tsubasa's meeting. The young so often got defensive and tried to redirect. To make it appear you were wrong or maybe your way was mistaken. Instead of owning up to what they knew to be a fact. Vladimir did differ in this regard from those around him. His mind seemed to comprehend the difference between Leader and follower. But also that he seemed to tread between them. "Do not be disheartened Vladimir, it's a common thing people don't see it. Myself included, till a rather vocal demoness made it known to me." He spoke of course of Khala one he was grateful too and somewhat angry with. She spun her web around Iriko and killed him. Iriko the most promising Captain of his generation who hosted Squad Five. That Division again always seemed to be in the center of dramatics.

Sosuke Aizen was the first one from that place who caused trouble. Before he was the boy Yamamoto took pity on. Iriko was the next one why was it all these people came from here? Was the organization perhaps flawed in its own way? Now that he thought about it Wolf Lionus was from here as well. Such a darkness cast over the politics and chain of command. Something he could ponder for a while as he felt the liquid around him. It didn't disturb him or bother him as he decided to let Vlad meditate for now. Vladimir had a lot to take in and figure out from the piece Tsubasa gave him. Tsubasa himself had some thoughts to tackle as well. His strength and desire weren't enough to make it happen. The plan he was setting up for was almost forgotten to him at this point. Could he make his dreams a reality or would it slip? He'd been all over the place lately to set things up. Tsubasa had become something of a figure in the Gotei. But his time here was drawing to a close.

Something about that made him anxious to leave his home. He liked it here above all else. Somethings didn't require him to truly push away from home. Tsubasa could infect and find things while Vladimir did. Watching over and helping when the Gotei needed his aid. Tsubasa wasn't the type to step in much anymore. He'd realized what Leadership meant. Going to the front line wasn't the answer anymore. Leadership meant something different and yet it wasn't that anymore. Tsubasa couldn't be a leader of men as he failed them so often. He was the poster child for that he figured. "Failure is a state of mind, realizing mistakes aren't things to cripple but strength. Realize what you seek and the path you must walk there. I'll give you ample time Vladimir." He said making sure Vladimir understood that he would give him as much time as desired. He was looking forward to the answer the male came to next. Everyone came to their own answer here as the stone gates awaited them next.

Physical strength meant nothing before this colossus.

Every adult, no matter what point in time or location on the map, had something in their past that they would rather not talk about; these events varied from person to person, but they all had something in common. These events affected the people, whether they were able to admit it or not. It was with these events that a person often came to a crossroad, a point in which they only had three options; they could accept the event, deny its very existence or they could simply seal memories of the event away. So often would a person try to hide these events, bury it in their memories as best they could; perhaps it wasn’t an attempt to bury the memory, but an attempt to deny it having ever occurred. These people were often limited by this experience; it stopped them from advancing past a certain point. Even those who had accepted that the event had occurred, but had not accepted the effects were in denial. With acceptance came advancement; growing as a person was extremely important for any person. It was with what Tsubasa said that this whole idea was reaffirmed.

It was true that he was not the only one who had struggled with their past, the mistakes that they had made so long ago; it seemed that Tsubasa had also faced this dilemma in the past, and was not afraid to admit it. That attitude was what would be needed; it was something that he already knew. The difference between understanding and putting into action, however, was quite large. Perhaps this was something that he had to work on a bit more, but was this the time to do so? Well, of course it was, but it was something that had to be done for quite some time. It wouldn’t change with a single day. It would take quite some time, and time was something that he had to spare. This was something that he had finally come to take seriously, it had been something that was holding him back for quite some time.

It was with this that Vladimir continued to listen to the male, and it was with this that he heard his new task; it was something that was rather simple for Vladimir. It had been, perhaps, one of the most noticeable things to him. He had always been loyal to his country, to his people; this was what had been driving him for so long. He wanted to protect all of those helpless people. But, were the people truly as helpless as they once were? Sure, he still wanted to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, but those people seemed to be decreasing. This, however, was false and Vladimir knew it. Perhaps he had felt the need to question his reason? Well, no matter, he had already decided what he fought for; why he had decided to commit to the actions that he had. “I’ve already decided on why I fight; it’s for the people. It’s rather simple, but someone has to do it.”
