Damn Shinigami Moochers [Erika, Yuujin]

"No... and this isn't the time for it either."

She muttered through the pain of his work. Gritting her teeth while grunting occasionally and then he got to the last part. Why did he care anyway? It's not like he was indebted to her or anything, he stood to gain nothing from this and yet he did it anyway. People... honestly.

"Are you done now?"

Erika asked when he had finished his bandaging. The golden eyes glaring at him from her spot, she hated the lethargy that came after the process. Being tired and not doing any work, tch. It annoyed her to no end.

“Hmm? Yeah. I’m done. This should do for a bit, but you’re going to have to keep it cleaned until you get healed. Though, I guess that’ll happen as soon as you get back. Just let me know if it starts acting up before then.”

Completely unsure of what she’ll do next, he already knows what he’s going to have her do. She better not fight him either because he knows what she needs now, and it starts with an r.

“Now, you can chill in my bed or get a guest room. I’m gonna go check up on everyone else real quick while getting that water. That good?”

Already, he’s moving to the door, eyeing her as he goes. Will she be here when he gets back? Will she fuss? Who knows? He’s done his part, mostly. It’s up to her to listen to him.

"Hmph."

She was not happy by his instructions and the scowl said as much while she unceremoniously fell to her side and onto the bed. A displeased look on her features while she laid on his bed and closed her eyes for a moment. Even though she couldn't see through her eyes the precise and honed reikaku could let her instinctively feel out where and what Yuujin was doing.

"Whatever, and don't get any ideas about a girl in your bed."

Erika muttered while dragging the black shihakusho top over the top of herself. No point laying here topless after all.

Look at her, all mad and grumpy. And to think, she’d probably attract a lot of men if not for that. A lot of dudes are into the tough gals these days. He’s just trying to make sure his teacher would be proud of him. What kind of person would he be if he just left her, like some injured puppy on the side of the road. Though, her bite is probably as scary as her bark considering why she’s injured. As if he could take advantage of her without having his jewels dismembered.

“I’m surrounded by insanity,” He found himself grumbling as he went to get her water, and while out, he even looked for Shaoling. Now, that’s a bag of crap to handle another time. When he returned, he simply wore a mask, his expression shadowed by the whiteness of his face.

So, Erika pretty much turned his teacher into an art piece, huh? These girls, he fucking swears.

“Water, Erika…”

Had somehow managed to doze off for a spell when he left, lifting her head up from the pillow with a groan. Why'd he have to bother her again? She sat up and lazily reached out to try and take the water from him. Downing a bunch of water over a couple of mouthfuls before sighing.

"Are you satisfied now?"

She muttered and rolled onto her back, staring at the ceiling in thought while not thinking about anything in particular.

“Honestly? Mmm… Yep. I’m pretty alright with this. Checked out Teach. Damn… You two really had fun.”

With a sigh, he moved back over to his corner, getting his book. Well, he doesn’t feel like climbing again, so he took a seat on the floor, leaning against the cushions he has scattered around, strategically. For a good bit of time, Erika would only hear him turning the pages of his book as he read through it, that is if she didn’t doze off again.

“If you want to talk, go ahead. I swear I’m listening,” Yuujin would add as he turned another page, just to make sure she’s not too conscious about disturbing him, and only if she’s up. He could just be talking to the walls for all he knows.

Whatever, from her position she was free to let her empty mind settle itself and relax. Getting closer and closer to dozing back off to sleep until her eyes closed for a moment and it was at that moment that Yuujin felt inclined to disturb her again with chatter.

"Ugh."

Turning her head to the side and scowling at the second time he'd prevented her from getting some rest despite being so adamant about her wellbeing. Regardless she muttered out a response and continued out of the fact that he'd already disturbed her.

"What do you want to talk about?"

It would have been as simple as not answering for him to not bother her. He would have just assumed she had actually gone to sleep, but, since she decided to respond, it left him a bit out of place now. The thought of wanting to talk about something bothered him. He's never wanted to, like, talk about something before. Most conversations he found himself in were coincidental or required happenstances, and those boiled down to training talk, work, and other meager situations. Even this whole thing is but another situation he's found himself in.

"Uh, well... I guess if we're to stay on topic, uhm... Why were you fighting Teach?"

She can answer that, yeah? What kind of situation was it that left the both of them near death? Hes not wrong to be curious, right?

She let him poise the question, how to explain it really? Straightforwardly or to just shrug him off and make him pick something else to talk about. She looked asleep by the fact that she'd kept her eyes closed but there was no small part of exhaustion in her thoughts while trying to find an answer.

So much so that the silence drew out, maybe she hadn't heard him or she was just ignoring him the boy could wonder.

On closer inspection though Yuujin would find that the shinigami had instead fallen asleep in her endeavour to find an answer for him and the scowl had disappeared to be replaced with a peaceful expression and quiet breathing as she'd fallen asleep.
