Advent Of Fury

Ulv Auber

Sat in a medative state, she took a deep breath, and then exhailed, focusing herself inwards. It was an easy technique for her to use, since it worked around the construction of a mental plain, and the blossoming of your Self into that plain. With her Inner World and her Tulpa powers, she didn't find that all too difficult. And so she was on this, strange plain very quickly. It was made out of Shen, solidified for this very purpose, and as such only a technique that a Yu-Shan was able to use. The floor felt real, the air felt real, and the whole thing smelled real.

One thing that was all too real was the lack of voices in her head. This was an illusionary space, she was basically lucid dreaming right now. And she'd never heard anyone in her dreams. But, it was terrifying. Ulv had never been alone in her life. The very earliest moments she had where those with Hvit cursing her for being a stupid bloody idiot and getting herself killed. Trying to stay calm - not having her Tulpa powers either, since they came from a source outside of the Illusionary Incarnation she was currently in - she had to do it manually.

It didn't really work. She panicked and started hyperventilating, trying to get her mind off the absence and not worry that she was going to be forced into horrible purgatory of nothing. But, while it did catch her off guard, she was Ulv. She might not have her Tulpa right now but she still have her determination and drive. She still had that fire in her heart to never give in, and this was just another one of those situations. Never give in. A flame in her heart ignited, and she looked up, at the horizon. She wasn't going to be along for long, so she could handle this. She would handle this.

With that panic attack dealt with a lot more handily than the last panic attack she had, Ulv set her mind to this world. A few ideas ran through her head on who she wanted to meet, as the concept was made to practice against the best people you have met withotu risking your life or theirs. A list came up, a Troll, An Atlas, Typhoon. Even see if Caanan could actually fight real well being Atlas Prime and not getting squished by a Fist Of The Masked Wolf God. Such was the power of this realm that you didn't need to know how strong they were, you just needed to know they existed, and the realm made a near-perfect copy. External powers like Hvit, The Wind, Tulpas, and Zanpaktous couldn't be replicated, but sheer physical skill could.

But, as much as they would be very good for combat experience, Ulv wasn't looking for that. She was looking, for a man. A truly great man, a truly fantastic man. Sure there were more memories and the immature Slip-Stream was only the start of what Mirja made, and if she couldn't handle him, then what use was it handing other people? So she focused on the memories that had been given to her by Ruin, and eventually, a man popped into existance. A cool looking man, and one that Mirja was still very pissed with for being as fast as he was. Like, seriously Jaeden, fuck off with your Sanic crap.

He nodded to Ulv, and then just stood there. This technique wasn't really one used for conversations, and while they were accurate clones, they were just clones. Then he took off, and Ulv couldn't see it at all. Score one to Mirja. At least her Occular Awakening allowed her to see the unseeable. But it was a crutch. Ulv, would see him by her own merits, and nothing else.

Bloody, fucking, hedgehog! How was she meant to chase him down if he was going so fast she couldn't even see him? Sure, she wasn't a patch on Mirja, but still, she hadn't lost that much, had she? Push harder, onto the horizon, Why the actual fuck did she had The Wind here, and yet not the Tulpa or Hvit? This was what she got for rushing into a technique she had read in a book without going to see Ci and talk about how it worked first. Still, this was her trouble and she would solve it herself. Driving herself forward further, she still couldn't even begin to catch up with him. Force, Technique, the two together, nothing worked.

So she stopped for a second, and took a breath. This, was not the point of movement. Force was not the apex of speed, or Radioactive would be the fastest thing in the universe. While she had fluid movement and an incredibly flexible body, there was to much of her focusing on the power she was putting into it. Forcing herself to be faster, rather than just letting it happen. She was getting caught up in the net that had snared Mirja for so long. The need to get faster supplanting the actual ability to get faster. Not as obsessive and far more in control of herself, Ulv was able to see the issue and work around it with much greater ease.

What was that idea that Mirja was working on...that she never finished but always had in the back of her mind. It was...Lightfoot. Looking over it from the recent memories, Ulv tsked. Girl couldn't make it simple, could she? But, simple was boring, and sure as shit wouldn't catch her clone of Jaeden. So it was time to put this sucker to work and see what she could find.

This was the good part of the technique. It was a training technique, and so you could stop what you were doing at any time and think on what you were working on. And this needed a lot of thinking, this Lightfoot. It was a Force Refraction Phenomena, so it wasn't exactly easy to wrap your head around. Push against the ground with all your weight, and then absorb the force, and you will take off with the force of a landing feather. That was why it was so confusing.
"Hey, you make sense of this? Push against the ground with all your weight, and absorb the force. You'll take off with the force of a landing feather"

The clones had some autonomy, especially when made to teach a person rather than just be a good fight. Jaeden-Clone looked on for a few seconds, and then dropped down a bit, pushing his weight against the ground, and took off without the merest hint of the fact that he had taken off.
"Of course you'd master it right away. You are a fucking genius and all" she exclaimed, sighing softly. He did have a point though. She saw the way his body worked and slid into position herself. Mirja had left her with an inheritance of the mind. And not just a stubborn drive to push forward. Also an impeccable understanding of her body. If that was how you did it, then she could do it. Copying Jaeden perfectly, she took off with a whole, new feel.

Too new, actually, she couldn't control where she was going and hit the deck hard, sprawling and rolling until coming to a stop. Of course, Jaeden landed perfectly first time like he had been doing this forever. Fucking Jaeden. But then, he was the best guy to do this with. Nobody else could really spark her desire to be better than a guy who was better so, easily.

Brushing herself off from the failed take off, she looked to Jaeden, and cocked her head softly. This new Lightfoot was a great thing if she could really master it, or grasp it properly.
"You aren't going to use that, are you? I only asked for your help because you are irritatingly good at this" Ulv commented. Jaeden-Clone smiled, and then responded by taking off without a whisp of evidence, clearly using that. "Ohh come on! You do not need any more help than you already have! Gods, you are so irritating. If I could catch you I would hit you so hard in the face. But, Mirja couldn't catch you so I've got no chance" She was mostly talking to herself, but that was a thing she did a lot. Usually, it was talking to Hvit, but they weren't here right now.

Pushing on the ground, and then taking off again, she was in a semi-controlled blunder, like jumping too high on a trampoline and your arms flail in hope of getting control back. She hit the ground with a stumble, but managed to retain her balance this time. A learning curve, that one. But not one she was going to baulk from. She'd look to Jaeden, darting about the place like he just speed coming together into a Jaeden-y body, and shook her head. Giving chase once more, she would try to add in her Lightfoot. But it was very hard to adapt to. She had no traction while setting off, and the take-off was unlike anything she'd ever felt, so it was sprawling and difficult to handle. The good think about this though, was that the illusion was not hasty, nor did it rush you. They were patient, forever.

The one thing that wasn't patient, was her Dantian. After several hours of powering the Illuison Incarnation, it had run out of juice, and the plain dissapeared. All at once her head was filled with Hvit, and it was a lovely thing. So lovely she started to cry. She never knew how much she could miss someone, until they were gone.
