Clash of Blades

Eriko sat Indian style in the center of a roof of 7 story building high over Karakura City. He'd sat there, still in his gigai, playing video games while he waited for the Soul Reaper he requested from Soul Society. Every once in a while, he'd ask the Soul Society to send one of the up and coming ranking officers to him so he could test their skills. It was his way of not on keeping himself sharp, but making keeping the other Shinigami on their toes.

He'd always ask that the Society heads make sure that who ever was sent knew very little about the mission they were being sent on and were told they were just meeting with a correspondent in the Material World. When he sensed them nearby, he'd disappear from where he'd be seen and out of no where attack whoever showed up out of no where, assuming they weren't someone he recognized.

Though he preferred people he didn't know, every now and then, one of the officers from his time as a ranking officer would be the one to show up, in which he'd take time to catch up with before sparring with them, so he called it. Though it was rare, there were times when one of the captains would come themselves. While he wasn't as strong as some of the stronger captain level Soul Reapers, he'd enjoy the challenge in taking them down.

As he was playing his games, he suddenly sensed spiritual pressure pop up nearby. "Looks like someone finally showed up. Alright, time to pack up and get scarce." He pockets the portable gaming system and using the gigai's enhanced physical ability, he jumps off the building bouncing between the walls of the one he was just on and its neighbors.
