Knight and Mage (Mizu/Sigurd)

The mountains of Switzerland, known for its, well, mountains. One could stop and enjoy the scenery, see what nature has in store for them away from society and the likes, but that's not why he's here. No. Right now, the man clambering through the green slanted pastures has better things to do than to vacation. He's long since stepped off the path that people were recommended to stay on anyway. It was already annoying enough to get pass all the checkmarks just to get this far, but recent events have made things a bit hazardous around here. That's exactly why he's here though.

They blame Hollow activity, but Sigurd knows it's more than just that. The dossier gave him all the information he needed for this assignment. For now, he's just scouting the area, planting his luggage for later. He's already been informed that the Gotei have sent operatives here to handle the Hollow situation. It's best to avoid them and stay out of the way of their patrols. If everything goes to plan, the Shinigami will be busy with dealing with his target's pets, leaving the path clear for him to handle the actual problem.

It's not everyday he takes an assignment that actually helps people, but the pay was nice. Sigurd's a man who's lost a lot of his past morals, but doing something that won't have him on the wrong side of the law is nice every now and then. He doesn't have to worry about pesky law enforcement.

For her first mission as a Vice Captain, Mizu wasn't sure what to expect. She didn't think it would be some amazing expedition against some mighty force, so she was unbothered by its simplicity. She would be heading to a human world country, [ii]Switzerland[/i], to deal with heightened Hollow activity in the area. Reports described multiple Hollows in the same vicinity, none of which were all that threatening to someone of her abilities. In fact, she wasn't even meant to be the one leading the incursion; a much lower seated officer had been chosen first. Either out of excitement or duty, Mizu felt obligated to snatch up the assignment herself and so she headed to Switzerland through a Senkaimon forthwith.

Mizu stepped cautiously out of the Senkaimon's doorway and into the brisk Swiss air several dozen feet above the ground. From this vantage point she was able to scan the area, her golden eyes washing across the environment, taking in all the information she could. She swiftly took out her Denreishinki and toggled its Hollow scanning capability, revealing two faint dots in the distance which she immediately moved in the direction of, her golden hair and black Shihakushō flapping in the icy wind as she did.

It didn't take long for Vice Captain Morikawa to reach her targets, a duo of moderately sized hulking Hollows with nary an inclination of her arrival as she was restricting her spiritual pressure. I wonder why they are here, away from any nearby cities? There's not even a town in the vicinity. she mused to herself silently. Oh well thought Mizu, have to purify them either way.

Even with her Gentei Reīn, or spiritual limiter, active, Mizu was able to make short work of the pair of Hollows. Utilizing the element of surprise, she was able to swiftly embed her Zanpakuto deep into the mask and skull of one before turning to the other, saying "Hadō #4: Byakurai.", and firing a blue energy beam from a finger team which pierced its head as well. Just like that, both were down for the count, leaving Mizu to put her sword away and scan her surroundings again. Something about this seemed...off. But she couldn't quite place why.

"Hey! What the Hell's the racket!" Came a voice not too far away from Mizu, scraggly men stepping from the foliage of the forest and into view of the mess she just made. Their eyes became affixed to the area, taking note of the absence of Hollow and the lone Shinigami. To say the least, their surprised faces quickly turned into that of annoyance.

"Ah shit! She killed the Hollow," One spat. "Damnit. Now what do we tell teh boss?"

The group raised their guns, strange shaped things that seemed to hold some sort of spiritual weight about them. Normal guns wouldn't be a problem, but something would tell Mizu that she shouldn't get let herself get shot.

"Well, we might as well kill 'er and find some more. We got plenty of bait left."

The sound of gunfire lit the air up as the men opened fire on Mizu.

Huh? Are those humans...? thought Mizu as she turned to the gaunt men exiting the tree line nearby. They had human weapons in their hands and seemed to be interested in the Hollow she had just purified, as if it was prey to them. It wasn't long after that they made their intentions clear to kill her and hunt down more Hollows afterward.

As the humans raised their guns Mizu brought both her hands up and summoned a translucent red Kidō barrier which stopped the bullets in their tracks, with or without spiritual attributes. She followed this up with a numbered spell, specifically "Bakudō # 1: Sai!" which would hopefully cause all their arms to lock up and be forced behind their backs, no longer able to fire or even hold their guns. Whether it worked out that way or not, Mizu raised her voice and demanded answers from the group "What do you want with Hollows? Why are you here?"
